MY STORY
Akil Marshall is a nationally known leader and innovator in arts education, culturally responsive teaching, and social-emotional learning. Akil works in school districts with K-12 principals, teachers, students, and parents. Akil has been involved in the education field for more than twenty eight years.

Teachers who have used his classroom techniques have experienced positive changes in students behavior, attitude and academic performance. Akil has received many awards including the 2006 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award presented by the Cleveland Orchestra and the Greater Cleveland Partnership.

He is the founder of Winning In America, ABC123 Kids Express, Dance Afrika Dance, and Fit 4 Success 365, four innovative and rapidly popular and growing programs for all K-12 at-risk urban students in public and charter schools.

He is the CEO of The Akil Marshall Organization (TAMO), based in Cleveland Ohio, which develops and administers these programs.
​
A Charismatic and inspiring speaker, Akil has been featured on a number of television programs. His favorite appearance was on FOX 8 Neighborhood with Wayne Dawson where he shared stories of success from his Boys2Men and Girls2Divas programs. Akil also brings a rich and varied background in fitness, sports and sports medicine to his work with youth and adults.

He has worked as a professional football player, the first strength coach in the NBA (with the Cleveland Cavaliers) and host of the TV show 5 Days to Total Fitness.
